Al Majdouie Hyundai, the Hyundai distributor in the Eastern and Northern regions, in collaboration with the headquarters of Hyundai Motor Company in Africa and the Middle East, announced the renewal of their joint efforts with the Saudi Food Bank (Et3am) to continue the "Moving for the Food Bank" program.
The initiative was launched from the Al Majdouie Hyundai car exhibition in Al Khobar and officially began with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Food Bank (Et3am) and Al Majdouie Hyundai, to provide a framework for cooperation in implementing Hyundai's 'Hyundai Continue' corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign for the year 2023.
This year, Al Majdouie Hyundai adopted a new approach by engaging young talents from volunteer students to directly participate in a competition to design food boxes intended for donation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the specific message and inspiration of the 'Hyundai Continue' campaign in designing the customized food parcels for donation.
Al Majdouie Hyundai supported reaching remote areas and geographically distant beneficiaries by donating a range of vehicles, including the Staria and HD65 trucks. A HD65 truck was donated to load and deliver the parcels to the laborers and supported families through food banks and non-governmental organizations. The Staria was also present in the launch campaign of the "Moving for the Food Bank" initiative that started last year.
As part of Al Majdouie Hyundai's commitment as a mobility solutions provider, Hyundai's concept of mobility extends beyond providing these solutions to customers but also aims to think of ways to expand impact and achieve "sustainable mobility" by using these solutions for a greater purpose and engaging with people in remote areas to foster solidarity in the community during challenging times.
Engineer Sharif Al-Jouhari, the CEO of Al Majdouie Hyundai, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Saudi Food Bank (Et3am) and the students of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals who participated for the first time in preparing food parcels for the needy, distributing 650 meals in the neighborhoods of Dammam. Al-Jouhari emphasized that Al Majdouie Hyundai always reaffirms its keenness and full commitment to supporting community service in all its forms.
Dr. Wael bin Sulaiman Flatah, the Dean of Student Affairs at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, expressed his happiness with the participation of university students in this community volunteering event, affirming the university's eagerness to involve its students in such activities. This is to enhance the culture of volunteer work, which is considered one of the elements of the university student system, as the university takes pride in the distinction of its students in the field of volunteer work, alongside their academic achievements and intellectual excellence.
Faisal Al-Shushan, the CEO of Saudi Food Bank, expressed "Et3am's" pride in the partnership established with Hyundai, noting that the company's contribution in the field of food support and providing enhanced logistics means confirms Hyundai's commitment to achieving integration with the association towards social responsibility.
Faisal Al-Shushan expressed his gratitude, on behalf of the board of directors of "Et3am," to Hyundai in the Middle East and all its authorized agents in the Kingdom. This strategic partnership between Al Majdouie Hyundai and diverse key change-makers is a reflection of the charitable campaign 'Hyundai Continue', which aims to hold activities that contribute to solving social problems that can be shared with local communities and future generations by providing an environmentally friendly transportation solution that achieves a sustainable future for the next generations.
